Philip Gearon

Philip Gearon’s brother, Gerry, was shot dead by a UVF gunman with whom he had unwittingly shared a taxi home to North Belfast on 30th November 1972.

He was 22 and had just worked a shift in a bar on Donegall Street, and then gone to the Hibs Club for a game of snooker and a few drinks. He called into a taxi rank and shared a cab to his Ardoyne home with two strangers. His address identified him to the gunmen as a Catholic.
