We provide care and support

for people affected by the Troubles/Conflict in Northern Ireland.

From December 2020 WAVE provide services to Survivors of Historical Institutional Abuse (HIA).

We offer

...care and support to anyone bereaved, injured or traumatised through the civil unrest in Northern Ireland, irrespective of religious, cultural or political belief.

The philosophy and ethos of the organisation is one of inclusiveness i.e. anyone bereaved or traumatised—those physically impaired as a result of the violence in Northern Ireland and those who care for them. WAVE promotes a respect for life and an understanding of difference that is seen as enhancing rather than threatening.

WAVE affirms and acknowledges that there are ways of resolving differences other than through the use of violence and continually seeks creative ways of working through issues that have the potential to divide.

Stories from Silence..

Stories from Silence is an on-line oral history project featuring around 100 individuals who have lost a loved one through the Troubles/Conflict in Northern Ireland.

Unlike other oral history projects undertaken at WAVE, the voice of the person can be heard recounting the story of loss and/or trauma. The stories recorded have become an invaluable resource for families and friends who do not want their loved ones murders to be forgotten.
