Johann Coyle and Alan McBride addressed an audience in St Mary’s Chapel, Creggan, last night. The event was the initiative of Fr Joe Gormley and Eamonn Baker, who have organised a series of events over the coming weeks to open up conversations about ‘healing in our society’. Johann spoke about the work of WAVE, emphasising the bespoke nature of the work to victims and survivors, regardless of political outlook or community affiliation. Alan highlighted what he referred to as the ‘politics of good neighbours’ and made the point that healing is more likely when society is together, peaceful and working for the common good of all of its citizens. Check out St Mary’s Parish or Towards Understanding and Healing to see what other events are coming up.
