Baroness Nuala O’Loan was injured and lost her first baby when the IRA planted a bomb at the Ulster Polytechnic where she was a lecturer in March 1977.
She was NI’s first police ombudsman from 2000 to 2007 and produced many reports into Troubles atrocities.
