Denis’s younger son, also Denis, was 19 when the UVF murdered him on the 6th of October, 1990. He was sitting in his car with his girlfriend at Oxford Island near his home town of Lurgan, Co Armagh. The killers demanded to know his religion before shooting him. The UVF used the cover name Protestant Action Force when claiming responsibility for the murder. The family suspects security force collusion. Denis had no political or paramilitary connections. He had 2 siblings.
