Joe’s father, Joseph, who was 28, was murdered by the Ulster Defence Association, on the 13th of November, 1972, outside his home in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim, shortly after he had returned from work. He was shot by at least 2 of the 4 men who called him over to a car. Joe was 6 years old at the time and had a 2 year old sister. Joe believes collusion was a factor and is concerned that new legacy legislation will prevent the truth from being told about his father’s murder.
