Phyllis Brett

Phyllis Brett and her late husband Michael Brett’s 18-year-old son, Gavin, was murdered by the UDA in Glengormley, on July 29, 2001. Gavin’s friend Michael Farrell was also injured when they came under fire near the entrance of a GAA club in a drive-by shooting by loyalists who assumed the teenagers were Catholics.  Nobody has ever been brought to justice for Gavin’s murder. Phyllis is a grandmother, and also mother to Tara and Phillip who dedicated his recent election to Stormont to the memory of his father and brother.
